Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm whole milk
  • 1 Tbsp granulated sugar (for yeast)
  • 1 Tbsp (or two packets) active dry yeast

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 Tbsp melted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 4 to 4 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2.5 Tbsp cinnamon
  • 6 Tbsp softened butter

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (or heavy whipping cream)

Instructions

  1. Warm milk in microwave 45-60 seconds to about 105F.
  2. In large bowl, place milk, 1 Tbsp sugar, yeast. Gently mix and let sit 5 mins or until frothy.
  3. Add to the large bowl, 1/2 cup sugar, 6 Tbsp melted butter, 2 eggs, vanilla. Mix by hand.
  4. In medium bowl, mix flour, salt, cinnamon. Then add to large bowl and mix by spoon and then by hand.
  5. Once mixed, knead dough in bowl for 5- 10 mins and add more flour if needed.
  6. Place dough in large bowl and cover with a damp warm cloth for one hour.
  7. While dough is rising, make filling. Combine brown sugar, cinnamon, butter.
  8. After dough has risen, roll out dough on floured surface to 24″ x 12″ rectangle and about 1/4″ thick.
  9. Spread out filling on dough. Roll up dough tightly so that remains 24″ in length.
  10. Cut into 12 equal sizes that are about 2 inches wide and place into baking pan. Let sit overnight in frig.
  11. In the morning, preheat oven to 375F. Pour cream over rolls before baking in oven for 24-30 minutes.
